About

Every student is unique, as is their journey into medicine. This guide accepts the challenges of advising a range of students and attempts to produce material that is detailed but applicable to all. Because this is a collection of resources, the guide should be seen in part as a resource navigation guide and a tool for informed decision making.

how to get started?

See the "Why Medicine" tab for this next section

See "Mentors" for more information. This is a crucial step which will carry you forward in the steps that follow.

Beginning a long career path will require planning. "If you fail to plan, you plan to fail." This can be complicated, messy, and at times feel uncertain. Good mentors and a supportive community will help you through this. This guide provides a brief overlook of "Plan" depending on your current status.

Many premed students are no strangers to rejection. Aside from being demoralizing, rejection can really set us back. When this happens, it's time for an alternate plan or to modify our existing plan. This is a completely normal aspect of this process and it should not deter you from pursuing your dreams.

This includes completing coursework, collecting letters of recommendation, writing a personal statement, taking the MCAT and of course sending in your completed application.
